Weinviertel, February 2017:
The newly appointed members of the Regional Wine Committee Weinviertel elected the vintner Hans Setzer as chairman on 20 February 2017. Herbert Toifl will serve as his vice chairman and head of the quality committee for the next five years. Kerstin Schüller follows Setzer as head of the marketing committee.
The Regional Wine Committee Weinviertel takes care of all wine economic issues of the Weinviertel and is comprised of 21 voluntary representatives from the wine branch. Their main focus is the marketing of quality wines, coordination of distribution, and promotion of wine tourism activities.
Johannes Schmuckenschlager, National Parliament delegate, Chairman of the National Wine Committee, and President of the Austrian Viticulture Federation oversaw the election. He congratulated the entire team: “The Regional Wine Committees make an important contribution to the performance of the Austrian wine industry. I would like to thank you for your participation and look forward to continued constructive cooperation over the next five years.”
The new chairman Hans Setzer follows Roman Pfaffl, who chaired the Regional Wine Committee Weinviertel for the last 15 years. Setzer says, “I am proud to follow Roman Pfaffl in this position. I would like to thank him for his indefatigable contribution to the Weinviertel wine industry. Pfaffl initiated numerous positive developments in the Weinviertel and was untiring in realising the ideal of regional typicity of Weinviertel quality wine.”
The Regional Wine Committee Weinviertel has a new board of directors: Vice Chairman Herbert Toifl, Marketing Director Kerstin Schüller, Managing Director Ulli Hager, and Chairman Hans Setzer.
